Webuild ( is currently seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant / Field Coordinator to play a pivotal role in supporting invoicing and field operations of a residential developer building throughout the Los Angeles marketplace.
The ideal candidate for this multifaceted role should have a robust background in accounts payable, with over 5 years of hands-on experience overseeing day-to-day accounting and project activities in collaboration with field personnel to ensure construction efficiencies.
Responsibilities will include diligently managing a the monthly accounts payable cycle, handling the preparation of vendor invoices, assisting field staff with approvals, and ensuring the timely delivery of a high volume of invoices to Accounts Receivable with all necessary support documentation. The abilities to confirm invoice statuses, manage subcontractor insurance, oversee project preliminary notices, lien releases, licenses, and the monitoring holdbacks, back charges, and retention funds on projects is essential.
As the Project Accountant, you will also conduct audits of accounts payable to ensure alignment with Owner pay applications and regularly generate reports on accounts payable status and financial metrics for the senior accounting team. Serving as the accounting coordinator for projects, you will drive the Subcontract and Purchase Order process, ensuring accurate and timely contracts. Processing subcontract Change Orders with a focus on timeliness, accuracy, and thoughtful payment consideration will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
Additionally, you will provide crucial assistance to field staff, managing vendors, equipment, and site facilities/utilities, while guiding expense tracking throughout the build. Understanding of project progressions and collaborating with the field to ensure the smooth processing of deposits and contract advances will be crucial. Conducting routine site visits to engage with staff and monitor progress will also be essential.
Qualifications for this role include an Associate's or Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Construction Management or related industry experience. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are imperative, as effective communication is integral to this position's success. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks is required.
