Job Description

Spur, a digital staffing agency, is looking for hard-working and punctual Custodian Substitutes within the Griffin Spalding County School  area for the 2025/2026  school year. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhering to the procedures and guidelines set by the school. They will have prior janitorial or related experience. The primary responsibilities of this position are to ensure school grounds and facilities are maintained in an attractive, sanitary, and clean manner. Candidates must wear slip-resistant shoes and adhere to cleaning and chemical safety guidelines by wearing protective gear such as gloves. Candidates must be able to work on an on-call basis.

Duties:

• Ensure that facilities and grounds are maintained in an attractive, clean, and orderly manner
• Clean and maintain hard surface floors and carpeting (vacuuming etc)
• Clean and maintain administrative offices and related areas
• Clean and maintain equipment and supplies
• Clean diffusers, vents, light fixtures, beams, etc
• Washes windows inside and out as needed
• Clean and maintained restrooms and classrooms
• Move furniture on an as-needed basis
• The ability to lift or push heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
• Arrive promptly when has an assignment to work

Minimum Qualifications:

• Able to pass a criminal history background check through GAPS ($50.00 one-time fee)
• Ability to comply with written and/or oral instructions

Compensation

• This position pays $12.78 per hour
• The position schedule will be based on the school’s standard schedule.
• Positions may be in a staffed position (Monday - Friday) or ON DEMAND (picking up absences when staffed positions are absent)
