POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinates proceedings of Mental Health Court for those patients involuntarily committed in accordance with ACT 143 - The Mental Health Procedures Act of 1976. Collaborates with unit treatment team members to facilitate patient participation in Mental Health Court hearings. Works closely with hospital Physicians to assure hospital-wide the proper preparation of medical charts, documents, and electronic filing of petitions are completed and available for Mental Health Court Professionals at the hearing. Assumes responsibility for monitoring the flow of court proceedings while working as a Friend’s Hospital liaison to Philadelphia Mental Health Court Professionals. Provides assistance to the Mental Health Technicians who are assigned to court that day providing direct patient care and maintaining patient safety while participating in mental health court hearings. Follow up with court documentation orders in patient chart and update all unit communication boards to reflect changes in commitment status.
This is a 16-19 hours per week position. (3-4 days/week).

Education/Training:
· Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, humanities, or behavioral health preferred.
· High School graduate or successful completion of GED and 3 years direct clinical experience required.

· Excellent communication, conflict negotiation, and problem solving skills.
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task with strong interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrate possession of respect for human dignity and concern for others.
· Meets all requirements for age specific criteria.
